Bringing Little Free Pantries to the Greater Kent Area

The Kent Community Foundation brought together a group of nonprofits, faith-based groups, and service clubs for a bi-weekly meeting to discuss food insecurity.  We eventually formed the Kent Community Partners - all have pledged to work together to support the families and individuals in our community.  We are now working on bringing Little Free Pantries to the Greater Kent Area.

Little Free Pantries activate neighbor engagement of food insecurity by addressing immediate and local needs.

Pantries rely on both giving and receiving, please consider adopting a pantry close to you to help keep it stocked.  We also need your help to build pantries, host a pantry, donate, stock, spread the word through social media, food restoration, delivery, donate, and more.

Pantries come in two sizes, the small for neighbors supporting neighbors and the large for placement at community centers, churches, and other community organizations.  Both pantries require a pantry host that is willing to connect with neighbors to get everyone on board to help keep the pantry regularly stocked.
